Ten youths were considered for youth diversion, four summons were issued and there were seven written warnings, police said.
Operation ECHO began on February 7 with the focus of investigating a series of property offences in Katherine.
Police claim to have significantly reduced the amount of property matters in Katherine, reporting that 191 property related offences were identified during a six week period.
Approximately one quarter of the property offences were preventable with increased security awareness and vigilance, police said.
“Police encourage Katherine residents and business owners to support the Lock It or Lose It campaign to prevent and discourage property offending and report suspicious activity,” Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said.
Operation ECHO was a collaborative operation utilising resources from Central Investigations, Katherine Field Intelligence Officers, Katherine General Duties, (GDs) and Central Division Bush Stations.
Police urge anyone with information relating to suspicious behaviour to contact NT Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
