The airport says it will be a boon for regional passengers from places like Katherine.
The airport is offering a 50 per cent discount for all car parking booked online for the busy Easter period.
“With the introduction of online booking, parking at the airport is now even easier and most importantly the customer is in control of their journey to and from the airport,” Shane de Wit, director commercial, said.
“Booking online gives customers peace of mind there will be space for them, especially during the busy holiday periods.
We’re confident the people of Darwin will embrace this new technology, so we’re offering a 50% discount to anyone who would like to give it a go over Easter and 10% off all bookings at any other time.”
“Our refund policy also offers peace of mind, so if you book and change your mind or your plans, you will receive a full refund up to 24-hours before the start of the booking period.”
“Driving yourself to the airport and using our airport car parks is especially convenient when travelling on ‘red-eye’ flights, no longer do Darwinians need to wake up their family or friends to drop them off or pick them up from the airport. What could be more convenient than driving yourself to the airport, not having to worry about your taxi turning up on time and then having your car waiting for you when you return. It’s simple, when you book your flights online, you can now book your parking online.”
Darwin International Airport has invested over $1 million in new Number Plate Recognition technology to support the online booking technology, making car parking at Darwin Airport a seamless journey for customers from the time they book their flights and parking until the time they leave the airport to make their way home.
Book online at www.darwinairport.com.au and head to the Parking menu.
Customers simply book and pay on-line with their credit card; when they arrive at the airport their licence plate will be recognised and the boom gate will automatically rise.
When leaving the car park, their number plate will automatically be recognised again and allow the customer to exit.
