The female crocodile was found just two kilometres downstream from the Low Level Crossing where people regularly swim.
Rangers established the trap at Novus Quarry last Thursday as part of the annual trapping program.
Senior Wildlife Ranger John Burke said they got a message early yesterday saying there was a croc caught and quickly went down to check if it was a salty.
“He was probably in the trap for two days,” Mr Burke said.
“The traps are really efficient, the croc basically catches itself.”
The crocodile has been relocated to a farm close by.
Rangers are warning locals and residents of the potential dangers of swimming in areas where crocodiles can get access.
“Novus Quarry is a popular catching ground. It’s downstream from the low level crossing which makes it pretty dangerous for people swimming there,” Mr Burke said.
“The croc was large enough to attack and kill an adult,” he said.
