Lachlan MacFarlane received RSL Player of the Match for his attack on the footy and the spirit in which he played the game.
In the two matches played on Saturday at Nitmiluk Oval, Beswick Bears kept their poise and came home strong.
Final scores: Kalano Bombers 8.5 (53) lost to Beswick Bears 16.7 (103).
In the second match between Katherine South Crocs and Eastside Blues, a lighting issue cut the first quarter three minutes short, but play resumed as normal from the second quarter.
Final scores: Katherine South Crocs 9.10 (64) lost to Eastside Blues 13.8 (86).
Great contest and hard fought to the end, but reigning premiers Eastside ultimately found the form that has got them over line for the last 5 years.
AFLNT is working with remote communities to make football more accessible to men, women and children, with more matches to be played at their local grounds.
A number of players from these regions will feature in the town-based competition throughout the season, and it’s great to see clubs working with communities to make this possible.
