It is all part of Law Week and the public are invited to have a peek at the court as well.
Law Week organisers said Katherine residents can satisfy their curiosity if they ever wondered what it is like inside the cells where people are kept while waiting court trial?
A mock hearing in Court One is expected to start at 9am.
There will also be stallholders outside the court.
There will be history exhibitions at the Katherine Local Court as well, which show how the NT’s courts developed from basic structures eaten by termites, to tin sheds and ultimately the modern buildings we see today.
Katherine courts will open their doors to the public from 8am until 10am on Friday.
