The Lindsay Street intersection with the Stuart Highway near the visitor centre has won $511,000 in black spot funding.
Three NT regional road ‘black spots’ will be improved over the next year under the Federal Government’s Black Spot Program’s 2018-19 funding round.
Chair of the NT Black Spot Consultative Panel, Senator Nigel Scullion welcomed the funding for improvements to three black spot roads in Katherine, Timber Creek and Humpty Doo.
“The Black Spot Program targets road locations where crashes are occurring, reducing the risk of crashes through funding safety measures such as traffic signals and roundabouts at dangerous locations.”
As well $478,000 of funding will to Fred’s Pass Road improvements between Strangways Road and Beaumont Road at Humpty Doo and $340,000 will fund Victoria Highway /Bulla Community Access Road intersection upgrades.
