Wanderers batted first and brought in 4 runs with Arnhem Crows Unable to score at their first bat.
In the second inning Wanderers went on a batting rally and managed 12 more runs with safe hits all around including a two base hit to Veronica Fejo.
Arnhem Crows then got in and with a safe hit to Susan Katherine brought in 3 runs but Wanderers kept scoring and walked away winners.
Final scores Wanderers 26 to Arnhem Crows 3.
Best on ground for Wanderers was Carol Manfong, Skye Kelly and Kerry Scrutton while for Arnhem Crows was Susan Katherine, Lyn Trindle and Veronica Moreen.
The second game was between Rebels and Rockers.
Rebels batted first and brought in 2 runs from a 2 base hit to Mel Retchford.
Rockers then brought in 1 run to Francine Bain.
In the second inning Rebels scored one more run. In the second and third inning Rockers were unable to score while Rebels edged forward with 5 more runs.
In the fifth and final inning Rebels brought in 2 more runs with a home run to Georgia Armitage.
Rockers’ last bat of the game also saw a home run to Hayley Ross.
Final scores Rebels 10 to Rockers 3.
Best on ground for Rebels were Mel Retchford, Georgia Armitage and Kate Block while for Rockers Libby Ross, Hayley Ross and Christine Kopp.
There will be no regular games this weekend with Katherine Softball holding a NAIDOC event on Saturday from 10am.
The day will consist of a morning tea and photo display honouring the NAIDOC 2018 theme “because of her we can” followed by some mixed, slow pitch social games and junior games.
