Five people are lucky to be alive after the car they were travelling in rolled four times on a remote stretch of the Buntine Highway, nearly 200km from Katherine, about noon yesterday.

In a five-hour round trip, St John Ambulance paramedics from Katherine came to the aid of the patients and transported two of them to Katherine hospital.
The other three patients - including a woman with suspected head, neck and spinal injuries, and a young man with injuries to his foot - were taken by St John Ambulance to Delamere Station airstrip where they were met by a CareFlight aircraft which medivacced them to Darwin.
St John Ambulance paramedics praised the efforts of Lendlease staff who administered first aid and cared for the patients prior to the arrival of paramedics.
