Yarralin is about 400km south-west of Katherine.
It is also home to the Victoria Daly Regional Council mayor Brian Pedwell.
The project won taxpayer funding from the Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects stream.
Senator Nigel Scullion and CLP candidate for Lingiari, Jacinta Price, said the project was a significant investment in improving safety and connectivity for Yarralin.
“This is a fantastic outcome for Yarralin,” Senator Scullion said.
Ms Price said funding for the project would provide a guaranteed and reliable fuel supply for the community and visitors to the region.
“This will have major flow-on benefits across the community as not only providing vital reliable fuel supply for the Yarralin community it will also improve financial opportunities for businesses in Yarralin,” Ms Price said.
Mayor Pedwell also welcomed the grant.
“The council appreciates the ongoing commitment by the Federal Government to the development of Yarralin, the community relies on access to this fuel.”
