Riders from across the Top End have been accumulating points over the series for the major prize, to be awarded in October in the last and final, round five.
Big River BMX Club president Nicky Thomson said Katherine racers would have the advantage competing on their own turf.
“This is a really good opportunity for our club members to participate in a competition so well know,” she said.
For some Katherine riders, the NT Series will be their first taste of BMX racing.
“Having a home ground event is going to be really beneficial to the club and also be a boost to confidence levels,” Ms Thomson said.
“BMX is a great spectator sport people are more than welcome to come down to support our riders,” she said.
Racing starts at 10am and runs all day, with five races for each group.
Big River BMX Club’s 30-40 members compete on Saturdays and train on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
