Currently road-tripping around Australia, the Welshman who is now more than $450,000 richer, has decided to extend his trip.
“I’m on a bit of a road trip, so this might help me to extend my trip a bit,” he said.
“I really haven’t thought too much about what I will do with the money. It’s certainly giving me a bit of a buzz.”
As well as winning the coveted division one prize of $444,985.88, the holidaymaker won division three, six times and division six, four times bolstering his total prize to $452,426.88.
“I went to the news agency to pick up the local paper and in the paper I saw the TattsLotto results,” he said.
“I saw them there and thought ‘hang on, there is something strange about those numbers, a couple of these look familiar’ because I mark my numbers when I play.
“They aren’t really any special numbers but I’m sure they will be my lucky numbers now,” he said.
When asked how he planned to celebrate the winner revealed he had some ideas.
“I think I might grab a few beers and go from there.”
Katherine has seen some big lottery wins this year.
Grey nomads travelling through Katherine in June picked up a winning scratchie at Top News and won $150,000.
The couple with the midas touch had already won $10 million earlier in the year.
On that very same day, the mystery Katherine lottery winner came forward to claim his $2 million TattsLotto prize.
The town was held in suspense for weeks before the prize was claimed.
The winning ticket was on his fridge door the whole time.
