Northern Territory pilots will get the chance to up their defensive skills next week at a free aviation seminar.
Taking skills to new heights, the seminars will focus on defensive flying to make the NTs skies even safer.
Run by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Peter Gibson said local pilots will be given practical examples of how to fly defensively to best manage threats and errors.
“NT pilots can be leaders in aviation safety by attending next week’s seminars,” Mr Gibson said.
“Local pilots have good technical flying skills and can now further enhance their safety performance.
“Our goal is safe skies for all.”
Adverse weather, mechanical problems or other air traffic can be a threat to safe flying.
The seminars will cover mitigating pilot error such as fuel mis-management, incorrect aircraft settings or navigation mistakes.
In addition, there will be a focus on threat and error management skills for pilots, as well as communication and situational awareness.
The Katherine seminar is being held on Wednesday August 29 at 7pm at the Ibis Styles Katherine.
