Saturday marked our third last soccer round for 2018 at the Katherine Town Oval and it is getting hot and yes the kids played on.

Under 6s; Brumbies pipped Chris the Cabinet Maker Cowboys at the gate with a 3 goal haul from Tasman Harrison. The high Flyers flew home with a 3 goal tally from Matilda Wheeler (1) and Thomas Gadd (2). A fantastic game by both teams. Some awesome shots on goal by Dempsey Hall and John Gilliland with goal from Dempsey Hall (1) for Custom Cabinets. Wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship by all kids.
Under 8s Games; The Dragonflies Swamp busters prevailed over the Blue Eels Northern Stockwater with a 7 to 1 win, with goals from Aiden Mogg (3)Frankie Lewis (1), Zoe Howard (2), Ella Howard (1) and for the Blue Eels Logan Park (1). Fireballs were on fire with a 4 to 1 win against the TBM Yellow Arrows with goals from Lachie Debeer (2) and Clay Dickens (2) and Cian Dunne shot (1) goal for the Arrows .
Under 10s Games; A tight game between The Nighthawks and Cutting Edge with an even score of 2 all with goals from Keeden Harrison (2) and Ethan Bartlett(1) and Rhys Atkinson (1), respectively.
A fast moving game from the Under 13s a Ibis Styles win against MD Sports Penguins with a 10 to 3 win with goals from Campbell Burns (2), Marie Hall (1), Kane Albert (1), Ryan Hon (1), Hikairo Cookson (4). Penguin goals from Ryker Bitz(1) and Oliver Moojen (2).
The Senior boys and girls in the under 17s produced a tight game with Katherine Fruit and Veg win with Iain Sutherland (3), Tumai Yates (1) and Kudiva (2) and Silvana Gold-Eggert (2) and Balton Rex’s kept the pressure on with goals from Vinh Nguyen (4) and Chris Remolo (1).
September 15 is the last formal junior game for 2018 with presentations to follow.
A special gala event will be held under the lights on Saturday, September 22 at 6pm for 7- 17 year olds with the under 17s having the opportunity to play a visiting Borroloola team.
The canteen will be serving free burgers to all players.
