Blue, an initiative of Katherine Youth Group, invites artists, sculptures, media makers and other creators to enter a submission of work by October 9.
Winning pieces will be on show for the public for two weeks at The Finch Cafe from October 12.
Katherine Youth Group project officer Pheobe Hooper said he is hoping the exhibition will create discussion on the topic of mental health, while also promoting art as a type of therapy which can help with difficulties and stress.
“Blue has a lot of meaning behind it, not only is it symbolic of tranquility and emotion, but it is the colour behind mental health.
“We want to bring mental health to the attention of Katherine as it is something that impacts many,” Mr Hooper said.
Mr Hooper said art was the ideal way to get people to look inwards and start talking more.
“Art can come in many forms and make people think about things differently.
“We are hoping that if people start talking about the art they will talk about the issue too.
“Art is a very diverse language,” he said.
Mental Health Week runs from October 7-13, 2018.
