The 33-year-old has been given notice to appear at Katherine Local Court on October 29, facing a charge of aggravated assault.
The police officer has not been named, nor have the circumstances of the allegations been outlined.
“As this matter is currently before the court, no further details will be released,” NT Police Media said today.
“This information is provided in accordance with NT Police Transparency Guidelines.”
