CROCOSAURUS Cove has grown to become the world’s largest display of Australian reptiles with more than 70 different species and over 200 saltwater crocodiles.
All the more reason to take the family for a day out these school holidays.
Located in the heart of Darwin, Crocosaurus Cove is home to a huge collection of Australian reptiles, including the iconic saltwater crocodile.
Sales and marketing coordinator Leanna Boyd said it was well known for it’s Cage of Death attraction, offering 15 minutes up close with large saltwater crocodiles.
“Our Big Croc Feed Experience allows guests the chance to feed one our massive salties themselves, and take a look behind the scenes of our reptile house,” she said.
Crocosaurus Cove staff are quite proud of their Junior Reptile Ranger Program, developed earlier this year.
It is a two hour, fully guided experience designed specifically for children age seven to 12 and is perfect for the school holidays.
“We take kids behind the scenes, introducing them to our unique reptiles, providing educational talks, and allowing them to prepare meals and feed our animals too!” said Leanna.
“With the opportunity to hold and take pictures with our animals throughout the day, our park is wonderfully unique.”
The organisation recently celebrated it’s 10th year and Leanna said that the passion and love it’s staff had for it’s animals had truly shone throughout that time.
