
The Big Rivers Hawks had probably their best quarter for the year on Sunday.
Unfortunately their challenge against the Darwin Buffaloes ground to a halt but that six goal blast shows what they are capable of.
The girls Under 18s team forfeited their match on Sunday in Darwin.
The Hawks return to Nitmiluk Oval for only their second home game of the year on Saturday.
It is the second last game of this year.
The Darwin Buffaloes came out with three goals early and looked to have the game in control in the first quarter at Gardens Oval on Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks boys rallied in the second term to put on six goals and take the lead.
Roving the knock outs in the centre and the ability to break tackles at half forward saw the Hawks rattle on the goals.
The Darwin side regrouped after half time and won well.
Final scores: Darwin Buffaloes 10.12 (62) d Big River Hawks 7.7 (49).
Despite the loss the Hawks remain in touch with the finals.
