Marilyn Grubb, 64, went missing from the outback town on December 30 and drove her car in an unknown direction.
Her family contacted Katherine Times last night saying there was a chance she had intended to visit relatives in the NT.
The family believes she packed a bag to take with her.
Police say Ms Grubb left from Broken Hill in a blue/grey 2005 Holden Adventra station wagon, with South Australian plates S048BON.
The family have asked everyone to keep a lookout for the car.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms Grubb is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
