The regional tour of the Sydney Film Festival returns to Katherine next month and brings with it award-winning Australian producer Kristina Ceyton.
Ms Ceyton will introduce the screening of The Nightingale and engage in an audience Q and A after the film on Friday February 8.
“We can’t wait to bring Kristina to Katherine as a special guest of the Festival,” festival manager, Sanam Rodrigues said.
“The local Katherine community will be treated to a Q and A by one of Australia’s most exciting producers, as she takes audience questions and shares behind-the-scenes stories from her excellent new film.”
The producer is known for The Babadook, Netflix film Cargo, starring Martin Freeman, and Sydney Film Festival audience favourite I Used To Be Normal: A Boyband Fangirl Story.
Her latest film The Nightingale is a historical revenge tale set in 1890’s Van Dieman’s Land, following a young Irish convict through the unforgiving wilds of 19th century Tasmania.
