Early yesterday police received a report of a single vehicle crash on the Central Arnhem Highway, about four kilometres east of the Stuart Highway.
Maranboy Police attended and on arrival located a white Holden Commodore belonging to Ms Beaumont.
Members of the public who had come across the crash advised police that a Caucasian female, believed to be Ms Beaumont, had suffered a head injury and walked into the bushland shortly after they arrived at the scene.
