In a joint effort with Merrepen Arts, major works from one of the original settlers of the Daly River mission, Mary Kunyi, will be shown from this Friday.
Running until July 13, the exhibition highlights works from collections across the country marking the significance of her contribution to Australian Indigenous art history as well as her contribution to the iconic artistic style of the Daly River region.
The artist learnt to paint through watching her elders, adopting and developing a distinctive, individual painting and drawing style.

While unique, it can be related to abstract expressionism practised by artists such as Jackson Pollock.
The exhibition will also feature works from artists who have been influenced by Kunyi, including family members who are current Nauiyu Daly River artists.
Produced in partnership with the artist's family and Merrepen Arts, and curated by Dr Cathy Laudenbach, the exhibition will include a free public talk on Saturday April 6 at 11am.
There will be an opportunity to meet family members who will be on hand to talk about the life and work of Mary Kunyi.
The Mary Kunyi Legacy opens this Friday at 6pm.
