Katherine Town Council today announced the springs would officially re-open next Saturday.
Despite the poor wet season bringing less that average rainfall, the popular swimming spot is not opening earlier than previous years.
The lack of rain over the past couple of months has made for an easier clean up for Katherine Town Council workers, as water levels barely rose to those seen in usual wet seasons.
According to a council spokeswoman, depot crew are in the midst of tidying and tree maintenance in the lead up to the official open date.
However, the springs is already attracting visitors.
The Katherine Times visited today, and while the water level was low for this early in the season, backpackers from Belgium, Gilles Jullien and Romane Tbatou, were enjoying a cool down in the clear springs.

The couple said they were unaware the springs were closed.
"We walked down the steep hill, and yes it was a bit overgrown but we really wanted a swim, so we kept going," Mr Jullien said.
Fencing continues to block off the main entry to the springs with the development of the Katherine Town Council's Hot Springs revitalisation project at a standstill.
The rejuvenation was lucky to have made it through the wet season, with prior concerns heavy rainfall could have wash away the development.
The project is currently at stage 2, according to KTC, however it remains unclear as to when construction work is expected to pick up or when it will be complete.
