The three-year wage freeze for MPs and public service "executives" comes ahead of the mooted Budget repair fix to be announced tomorrow.
The NT's MPs are each paid a basic salary of $162,696 annually.
Wages have been capped for three years despite the NT going to the polls in 2020.
That basic pay comes before travel, accommodation, vehicle and electorate allowances are added in.
Ministers are paid more.
Although MPs received a two per cent pay rise earlier this year, this freeze is expected save $25 million over the three years.
The pay rise came after the parlous state of the NT's Budget was raised late last year.
NT Opposition Leader Garry Higgins told ABC entire salary packages, which can include housing and ministerial cars for staff can be between $200,000 and $450,000 per year.
Tomorrow's Budget fix will see the implementation of a raft of recommendations by former WA Under-Treasurer John Langoulant, as well as immediate savings identified in Government's Root and Branch review of programs.
The plan to fix the budget will include tough decisions to ensure Government can continue investing in local jobs, generational change and tackling crime.
It will protect front-line workers like teachers, nurses and police and will include important reforms to maximise private investment and create local jobs.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said: "We will deliver a plan to fix the budget so we can continue investing in jobs, generational change and cutting crime.
"It's only fair that heavy lifting is also done by freezing politicians and executive pay for three years.
"We will not be taking the CLP approach of slashing and burning the public service, sacking teachers and massive increases in power prices".
