This year six teams have nominated, a first for Katherine Softball in more than a decade.
There was also a great turn out with spectators all around the oval.
The day started off with the 2018 grand final rematch between Wanderers and Rockers.
Wanderers started on the bat and made the most of Rockers early fielding error bringing 4 runs.
Rockers were then unable to score any runs with 3 up and 3 down with Wanderers strong fielding.
In the second innings Wanderers extended their lead bringing in 4 more runs with a safe hit to Keely AhChin taking their lead to 8 run to Rockers 0.
In Rockers second bat they found some form bringing in 2 runs.
Wanderers went on to bat and even with safe hits was unable to score for the next 3 innings.
Rockers came back over the next 3 inning with a homerun to Francine Bain.
In the fifth and final inning Rockers went into bat 1 run behind Wanderers.
Rockers scored one early run then off the bat of Dianna Ross the winning run was scored.
Final scores: Rockers 9 to Wanderers 8.
Best for Wanderers was Keely Ahchin and Annie Manfong while for Rockers Francine Bain and Jo Delacoeur.
The second game of the day was Arnhem Crows against Rebels.
Arnhem started on the bat first and scored 5 runs with a safe hit to Deidre Lechleitner with a safe hit to Right field and with Rebels fielding errors.
Rebels went into bat and matched 5 runs.
In the second and third inning Arnhem was unable to score with Rebels Pitcher Georgia Armitage working hard on the mound.
Rebels went into a batting rally and with safe hit all around scored 16 runs giving them the game.
Final scores: Rebel 21 to Arnhem 5.
Best for Arnhem Mavis Jumbiri and Soozie Gillies and for Rebels Mel Retchford and Kaillee Brown.
The third and final game of the day was between two new teams entering the Katherine Softball competition Kalano Bombers and Tindal Magpies.
Kalano batted first and brought in three runs with Tindal unable to score.
In the second inning Kalano scored 6 more runs and Tindal bringing in 2 runs. In the third and final inning Kalano scored 8 more runs extending their lead.
Tindal having the last bat of the game and came back with safe hits and scored 5 runs.
Final scores: Kalano 17 to Tindal 7.
Best for Tindal Kylie Bennedetti and Lucy Croft while for Kalano Kathleen Andrews and Monica McDonald.
There will no games this weekend due to May Day long weekend with games returning on May 11t.
10am Wanderers Vs Kalano 11.40am Arnhem Vs Tindal and 1.20pm Rockers Vs Rebels.
