The average minimum temperature for May is 17.5 degrees.
The Bureau of Meteorology is watching the unseasonal Tropical Cyclone Ann which entered the Australian region today as a weak tropical cyclone.
Ann is currently a category one system, and still 1000km away from the northern Qld coast.
Tropical Cyclone Ann is expected to move west and towards mainland Australia over the next few days.
It may bring some showers across the Top End as a tropical low this weekend.
The Australian tropical cyclone season runs from November to April (inclusive).
