Did you know that the NT is the most likely place to be murdered? Or at least, it has the highest rate of homicide per 100000 persons. Not a bucking-the-trend statistic to be proud of.

I like the 'stop fighting' ads on telly. But I think it is a mark of how little we care about it when you consider the proliferation of 'stop fracking' signs. How many 'No More' stickers have you seen? In Katherine only about 10 of us slept in our cars two years ago in solidarity with DV victims. Hardly impressive.
But it isn't going to be solved with solidarity or pamphleteering, is it?
You want the NT's darkest side? - this is it: our families fight too much.
Of the 583 assaults in Katherine in the last 12 months, 419 were domestic violence related and 415 were alcohol related. It doesn't take a maths genius to realise that must mean many of the DV assaults were alcohol related. God forbid that these continue to appear boundless.
I think we have heart disease. We can't control ourselves enough to love one another properly - whether we're doing the fighting or our neighbours are.
Protect our water by all means, but how are we going to protect the people?
St Paul's Anglican Church meets on Sundays at 9am with kids church. All welcome.
