Hames Sharley Architects was awarded almost $300,000 to come up with a design for the $4.4 million revamp.
An hour has been set aside before next Tuesday night's Katherine Town Council meeting at the Civic Centre for the presentation, starting at 5pm.
Many residents were surprised and angered by the lack of notice given earlier in the month with another architects' plans for the $5m upgrade of the CBD.
Only a handful of people attended that unveiling.
For the sportsgrounds, Hames Sharley Architects will "deliver the design of a new sports pavilion facility between the existing ovals, safety enhancements to the entry road infrastructure, landscaping and parking improvements".
The money long promised for a new community centre in Katherine, a pre-election promise of Katherine MLA Sandra Nelson, once touted for the abandoned Katherine Sports and Rec Club in Giles Street, has now been given to council for the sportsgrounds development.
It is understood the new sports pavilion is to incorporate the mooted community centre.
Council has already voted to spend $300,000 of the $4.4 million to redevelop the Don Dale pavilion and $200,000 from its own reserves to fix the No. 2 oval in the sports precinct.
The returned Liberal Federal Government has already committed a further $200,000 towards fixing the second main oval.
