No matter who you voted for last week, you know you'll be disappointed.
Our politicians can't fix the NT's dark side.
They simply present all our common flaws writ large. Excess in all the disappointing places. If you get the government you deserve what does this say about those of us who live in the NT?
Jesus never disappoints. Magnanimous in defeat: "Father forgive them". Gracious in victory: "There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent".
No matter your political flavor - Jesus offers a better deal - a real boundless possible - life to the full.
Finally, and this is for most of you the most offensive thing I'll ever write: without Jesus our dark side is never going away. But he has been changing lives for 2000 years. Yours could be next.
Hence my campaign: Jesus for PM. Tongue-in-cheek and deadly serious. Tongue-in-cheek because he's got a bigger title already - Prime Minister of the Universe - its ultimate servant.
Deadly serious because it's who Jesus is anyway, whether you voted for him or not.
