Today, the Katherine Times has attempted to compile a list of the many NT Government and Katherine Town Council sponsored works and applications wanting resident feedback.
Draft municipal plan
Submissions close on June 27 for Katherine Town Council's draft municipal plan.
The plan contains council's projected budget and rate rises.
Comment can be made - in person at the Civic Centre, emailed - records@ktc.nt.gov.au or faxed - (08) 8971 0305.
Fracking
The NT Government has asked for comment on its proposed no-go zones for hydraulic fracturing, or shale gas development through its website.
Consultation closes on June 21.
Katherine council says it wants the entire municipality and not just the township included in a no-go zone.
CBD Revitalisation
The NT Government provided Katherine Town Council with $5 million to revitalise the CBD in the middle of last year.
The architect group, Ashford Architects, in charge of the revamp have already held extensive community consultations and have created a concept plan, which is not yet available to the public.
A public survey can be filled out here and is open until the end of the month.
Sportsground
The Don Dale Pavilion is expected to be demolished this year, making way for a new sport and community multi-function facility.
A concept plan for the new building has been developed by Hames Sharley Architects following consultations with the Sportsground user groups.
The concept plan is open for comment now. Katherine Town Council does not know when it will close.
To make a comment, email Katherine Town Council at contactus@ktc.nt.gov.au.
Showgrounds
The NT Government provided $2 million to Katherine Town Council to upgrade the Katherine Show Grounds, last year.
Architects are in the midst of consultations with user groups and key stakeholders to produce a long-term master plan.
Once a concept has been produced, the plan will be opened to public comment.
In the mean time, suggestions can be made either in person at the Katherine Town Council or via email at contactus@ktc.nt.gov.au.
