A body of a man has been found after emergency service crews doused a house fire in Tennant Creek today.
Emergency services were called to the house fire just before 11am.
According to a NT Police spokesperson, crews were alerted to the fire by a nearby resident who said smoke was coming from a home in Ambrose Street.
"Emergency service crews arrived on scene where the back room of the home was well alight," the spokesperson said.
"NT Fire and Rescue crews managed to extinguish the fire before it could cause damage to nearby structures."
Police have confirmed the body of a man was found inside the house, but are not treating the death as suspicious.
Fire Investigators will travel to Tennant Creek today to determine the cause of the fire.
