The Bureau of Meteorology is tipping a typical beautiful dry season day with a maximum of 35 degrees for race day.
But people may have to secure their fashion wear with winds of 15-20kmh predicted for during the day.
Many people from across the NT, indeed from around Australia, head to Katherine for the annual races, bill as the social event for the year.
