It's time to enjoy the last few weeks of the dry.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a top temperature for Katherine of 37 degrees on Saturday.

There will be a string of 35-36 degree days for the rest of this week.

The cool mornings of last week are over for the time being at least with 13-14 degree minimums.

As we would expect during this tail end of the dry season, there is no rain forecast.

History shows it can still happen in Katherine later in September with 62mm recorded in 2016.

Average maximum temperatures in Katherine during September are 35.8 degrees.

Humidity levels are also expected to slowly rise.

The dry season officially ends on September 30.
