Just days before heavy-duty security protection was due to arrive - a response to last week's shattering raid -the Turf Club suffered another break and enter.
"It is just draining," president of the Turf Club Paul Mullins said.
The late-night Monday break-in brings the tally to five this year, and while nothing was stolen this time, Mr Mullins is yet again counting the costs.
"Loss of wages, replacement glass, security, time in manpower - it is just adding up," he said.
"We are a volunteer group, and it is heartbreaking to know the 25-30 members are having to go through this again and again.
"Because there was nothing missing it seems like a game."
A smashed window was found by police on patrol at around 11pm.
The club had already forked out thousands of dollars for security screens after children as young as six years old had been caught breaking into the Katherine Turf Club about one week ago.
Expected to arrive this week, the president said he was disappointed the building would soon look like a prison.
"We built it for the community, for conferences and parties, not just the races which happen one day a year," he said.
"It is not a good look for tourists, it just triggers 'crime' in people's mind."
The break-in comes at a time police are reporting a steady fall in the number of commercial break-ins in Katherine.
Break-ins reached a shocking height of 223 per cent at the end of last year, and due to a number of police operations, have slowly decreased month on month to 59 per cent.
A total of 312 break-ins were reported in the past year, ending June 30.
That's almost one a day.
Mr Mullins said the lack of repercussions is driving the ongoing high crime.
"It is a slap on the wrist and they walk away," he said.
