Nitmiluk Festival is upon us, bringing with it a 10-day event celebrating 30 years since the handback of Nitmiluk to Jawoyn traditional owners.
The anniversary of the handback lands tomorrow, September, 10, with a special performance from new generation artist Yirrmal Marika hailing from Yirrkala in north east Arnhem Land.
"A day of celebration marks the anniversary of the official hand back of Nitmiluk to Jawoyn people and recognition of their traditional connection to the land, and the beginning of a successful partnership with the Northern Territory Government," a festival spokeswoman said.

The festival also includes the Katherine Bird Festival and a free screening of Top End Wedding on September 14.
