There will be music, speeches and other entertainment at the gorge from 10am to 3pm.
The daay will get off to the a fast-paced start with the flypast of a RAAF F/A-18A Hornet aircraft from 75 Squadron, based at RAAF Base Tindal, at about 10.30am.
The RAAF said the aircraft will fly at speeds up to 830kmh and no lower than 75 metres above ground level.
A day of celebration marks the anniversary of the official hand back of Nitmiluk to Jawoyn people and recognition of their traditional connection to the land, and the beginning of a successful partnership with the NT Government.
A special performance will come from new generation artist Yirrmal Marika who hails from Yirrkala in north east Arnhem Land. Inspired by his grandfather and the former lead singer of Yothu Yindi, Dr Yunupingu.
He fuses traditional and contemporary arrangements with class and passion.
Yirrmal is an inspiring songwriter and guitarist with a beautiful voice, singing songs about his homeland and culture with feeling and depth beyond his years.
It will be a free community event.
