To get it, new power lines will have to be built from the Katherine sub-station.
Power and Water Corporation has been asked by the Defence Department to lift the power transfer capacity of the 22 kilovolt connection to Tindal.
This will need a third "22kV feeder" to be built.
Contractors have been asked to take to the air to map the proposed route.
A tender has been released for an aerial survey of the existing two power lines and the planned third line from the substation to the base.
The survey is to be complete by early next year.
"Power and Water Corporation will make arrangement to have a representative available to liaise with various landowners for movement of stock away from the lines of interest where practical, for the day of the anticipated flights over sensitive areas," tender documents state.
