Not necessarily common in thread, but relevant to the community, director of the cultural centre Poppy Searle said she is hoping the diversity in artwork will be telling.
"[The exhibition] makes for an interesting mix - food, landscapes, hopes and dreams showcased across the exhibition show what our centre is about.
"The work is all very different, but that is art, it is diverse."
In the main gallery, We Eat We Are by Sarah Pirrie explores the relational experience of food as a sacred language and as a vital resource at the heart of community.
The K Space Gallery will host a solo exhibition presenting new work by Anna Spencer made while living and working remotely in the Northern Territory - Rust and Dust explores the Jatbula trail, Lajamanu community and places in between.
And touring from the National Museum of Australia, the Australian of the Year exhibition pays tribute to the eight Australians whose achievements and contribution are being celebrated in 2019.
The exhibition uses personal objects to share stories and provides a special insight into the challenges and triumphs of their personal journey, beyond career achievements.
All three exhibitions open as part of a free event this Friday at 6pm.
