Tanja Ebert was last seen in August 2017 and is thought to have been killed by her husband, who shot and killed himself when police went to his outback property.

In an unrelated case, Scott Redman went missing on Eyre Peninsula in April 2018 after being involved in a police pursuit.

NSW cadaver dog Tilly and handler Senior Constable Adam Aitken arrived in Kimba, on Eyre Peninsula, on Monday and will help in a renewed search for Mr Redman's remains.

The pair will then travel to Manna Hill, 360 kilometres northeast of Adelaide, to search areas of the remote station where Ms Ebert lived with her husband and two sons.

Detective Inspector Billy Thompson said the use of a cadaver dog was unusual but an example of police using all avenues in order to provide answers in two challenging cases.

"Matters such as these are never considered closed by SA police and we continue to explore all investigational opportunities," he said.
