Amassing thousands of views on Youtube and many more on Spotify it is no wonder why.
"From travelling through drought stricken Queensland on my last tour and driving back and seeing it all rejuvenated, but so many dead cows on the side of the road, was terrible - I was gutted," Curtain said.
"I just wanted to write a song to let [farmers] know that we are standing by them."
Released just four weeks ago, 'We're Still Here' soared past the country ballad Peace of Mind by Destiny Band Oz, which held its position at number one for four weeks in a row.
Off the back of 'Speak Up', a duet with Sara Storer, which touts powerful anti-bullying messages and garnered thousands of dollars for the Dolly's Dream campaign, Curtain said he approached his latest song with slight trepidation.
"It is always scary to write a song hoping people will connect with it... but it is great to get the message out for farmers and put a spotlight out on what is happening.
"I have had so many messages from farmers who have said the song inspired them to keep battling."
While the top spot on the chart is a buzz, he said, it's the greater impact of his songs which keep him coming back with more.
"I've seen how much 'Speak Up' impacted communities and helped young people struggling and I want to keep doing that."
Co-written and produced by Garth Porter, the collaboration on 'We're Still Here' has resulted in a salute to rural Australia and the uncanny ability of communities to pull together, rebuild and move forward despite ongoing challenges, natural disasters and isolation.
Curtain's third album 'Territory Time', released in 2017, went straight to number one on the Australian iTunes Country Music Charts, so there is no wonder there is much excitement building for his fourth album, due to be released November 15.
The release of the album kicks of Curtain's next Australia wide tour starting at the end of November.
The country music star will be playing at the Big Fig Bistro on Sunday night starting at 6pm.
