An Adelaide man, aged 68, has died from after being bitten by a snake in a remote NT national park.

The man was camping in Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, one of the most northernmost parks in the NT, about 500km by road from Darwin.
Authorities have been told the man was bitten by a highly venomous Western Brown snake.
A statement from Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture said the man was taken to the local ranger station last Wednesday.
"Treatment immediately commenced in consultation with the District Medical Officer and CareFlight," it said.
"Sadly, the man lost consciousness."
