This depression is not expected to reach cyclone strength until it passes the NT and spins off into the waters off WA.
About 40mm fell in a big dump across Darwin last night and more rain is expected from the depression over the next day.
Jabiru recorded 128mm as the tropical depression passed yesterday evening.

"A tropical low is located near Jabiru and is expected to continue moving in a west-south west direction over the northern Daly district during today. The low could pass close to the Darwin area later today or early Saturday, potentially bringing further rainfall," the bureau said this morning.
Although the tropical low has passed further south across the Top End than originally thought, Katherine's rain forecasts are still only for little rain from it.
Tindal recorded about 8mm and Katherine about 5-12mm last night as power was cut across most of the town for a short time yesterday afternoon.
The Katherine River is continuing to fall after the Low Level Crossing was re-opened yesterday.
