Off the back of a hugely successful three state tour in 2019 Up, Up & Away! is travelling to the Northern Territory to take audiences on a trip around the world.
The show is making its mark as a "riotous musical performance" about the hilarities of working thousands of feet in the sky.
We wanted to find the humour in travel and bring it to life in a very theatrical way
- Director, Jenny Usher
"With this show we really wanted to find the humour in travel and bring it to life in a very theatrical way," director Jenny Usher said.
"When we were developing the show we found all these really funny ways to poke fun at travel and it just grew from those hilarious moments into something quite unexpected."
Said to have spectacular dance numbers and captivating harmonies set to a swing and retro soundtrack, the show follows stewardesses from independent touring company Candy Shop Show Australia, based in Brisbane, who are far more interested in their own comfort than that of their passengers.
Up, Up & Away! is the first in a line of performances hitting Katherine this year.
Over the next few months, the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre will be hosting a variety of shows including Macbeth, the perception experiment - an experiential live dance performance, sound and sculptural installation - and the widely popular Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow.
Up, Up & Away! is happening tomorrow, Saturday, February 29 at 7.30pm.
Tickets can be purchased online here and cost: Adults $30, Concessions $25.
