The elderly woman was flown by CareFlight helicopter to hospital in a stable condition after the car she was driving rolled, about seven kilometres south of Hayes Creek.
The woman was travelling alone on Grove Hill Road when the car rolled and landed upside down in a nearby ditch, trapping her in the car for a few hours before she was found by a passing motorist just before 7am.
The motorist raised the alarm, and the Top End Rescue Helicopter was tasked.
Police and Pine Creek clinic staff were first on the scene to assess the woman's injuries before the CareFlight helicopter with crew arrived shortly after.
The woman was extricated from the vehicle and treated by CareFlight's clinical team for suspected pelvic, abdominal and chest injuries and multiple abrasions.
The woman was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition, landing shortly after 12.30pm.
CareFlight operates the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the NT Government.
