Three-time NBL coach of the year Wright's seven-year Adelaide reign ended earlier this week in what was described as a mutual decision.

But White's posts, including a screenshot of Wright making an unsavoury comment, call that into question and paint a picture of the dysfunction surrounding the club.

His Twitter tirade on Friday was prompted by Wright expressing his dissatisfaction with imports Jerome Randle, Eric Griffin and Ramone Moore and local big man Harry Froling on his way out the door.

Wright denied his departure had anything to do with White's inflammatory tweets but admitted they could scupper his hopes of finding another coaching gig in Australia or abroad.

"Yeah they (future employers) might (look at his tweets). That's what's disappointing," he told SEN.

"You go through 500 games and do the right game, and care for people, and you try to work hard for people and go the extra mile."

The career coach alluded to having to deal with "tough situations" across this season and fell on his sword over his failure to bring the group together as they slumped to a 12-16 record.

"He's (White) responding to my comments about the players, and he's not going to let his players be attacked or whatever," he said.

"I said in those comments that it was my inability to get through to those players, it was my fault.

"I said that clearly, that it was my fault for not getting through to them."

Wright confirmed he was the author of a series of messages, shown in a screenshot, that made light of the team's poor wellness scores.

But Wright insisted he was simply airing his frustrations in the privacy of the 36ers' coaches-only WhatsApp group before the comments were passed on to the players.

"We go there to vent. We go there to say stuff," Wright said.

"Players have their chat messages, that if published, would look disastrous.

"It's just disturbing that someone would go in there and take a private message out of there and take it out of context.

"I even said 'too harsh', which is a joke that we use after we say something that we know is wrong to say."

The 36ers are liaising with the NBL after launching an investigation into the claims, but Wright doesn't want to be part of it.

"I don't work for them anymore," he said.

"That's not something I'll really be engaging with them about."
