Blue Eagle, which doubles as a diversionary program for disadvantaged youth, has also offered to loan equipment to any member while the gym is closed.
"We have a current membership of 210, so even people who aren't getting down to the gym got onto Facebook and checked it out," he said.
"My first concern is how quick we can kick this virus into touch, so we absolutely have to suspend all training and youth programs even though it isn't ideal.
"I am where I am because of the people supporting me so this is just part of giving back to them as the community," Mr Flood said.
As more diversionary programs become suspended, there have been concerns raised boredom and isolation could lead to increased trouble around town.
Mr Flood, however, has firmly expressed faith in all of his students and the personal attributes they've already adopted.
"They've been given a sense of discipline within the gym, we've taught them respect and they follow it. They'll still practice that at home," he said.
"I've already had people taking me up on the offer to borrow equipment, they want to keep going even during this hard time," Mr Flood said.
In a bleak period for Katherine and the world, Mr Flood is also optimistic about the town's adaptability and capacity to recover.
"We'll be at it again, it's all positive from that perspective and this will all be just a little hiccup as far as the program is concerned," Mr Flood said.
"It's going to impact everyone, we've just got to respect the social distancing and that comes above everything at this point," he said.
