Katherine's Library is taking advantage of its enforced closure to undergo a makeover.

The facility on Katherine Terrace is currently being recarpeted, new LED lighting installed with a full bathroom renovation, thanks to the building owners.
Due to these works however, the library won't be opening until Wednesday.
More information regarding the Library's re-opening operations and all associated social distancing measures will be provided at a later date.
As well, the installation of the Katherine Aquatic Centre shade structure is currently underway with the project set to be completed by the end of May.
To allow for these works to be completed the facility will be closed to the public on the below dates:
- Monday, May 18
- Tuesday, May 19
- Wednesday, May 20
- Monday, May 25
- Friday, May 29
Katherine Town Council and the YMCA have been working closely to ensure as minimal impact as possible to all users and we apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
"We thank the Katherine community for their patience during this process and we look forward to providing increased sun safety for our users," a council spokeswoman said.
