The 1457ha land and plantation is owned by institutional investors and still managed by Quintis which had been struggling with its operations across Australia in recent years.
The company went into receivership in 2018 but receivers were able to recapitalise the business.
Quintis had an office off the Victoria Highway which was closed in 2018.
The plantation is located at Taylor's Park, about 60km south of Katherine, and the ground was once farmed for peanuts.
It is not all of the holding.
Tropical Forestry Services (which has transformed into Quintis) entered into a contract to purchase the Taylor's Park, Eagle Park and Florina Road properties owned by the Peanut Company of Australia in 2012.
Global investment company BlackRock had emerged as a the majority owner of the company, which managed 12,500 hectares of forestry plantations across the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland.
Thousands of people have money invested in Quintis which was once listed as a managed investment schemes.
Quintis is still managing almost 30,000ha in the Douglas Daly, Katherine and Mataranka regions.
The Katherine property also has a large water licence attached.
It is being sold through expressions of interest by May 31.
A company spokesman today said there had been strong interest in the sale.
