The AFLNT's push for more games in community settings made its first leap as the Arnhem Crows Mens and Women's teams both played home games in Barunga.
The Arnhem ladies took out the win while the men were shown up at the hands of a red-hot Camels team firming as premiership favourites.
The women's win was their first for the season as they continue their historic push as the first community-based female team in an urban competition.
The Katherine South Crocs men's team blitzed Tindal with a side bolstered with players from Darwin.
Tindal coach Rob Hannah paid tribute to a 'classy outfit' after his side was dismantled by 159 points at their home ground.
Yet in a promising sign for the kids of Katherine, Tindal also hosted a junior's game of about 16 participants before its clash with the Crocs.
The lack of a junior competition continues to be a hot topic around the league, and AFLNT's Gavin May says it is of high priority now the seniors are underway.
Mr May will meet with club presidents later this week as he rallies support for the competition, which he believes can only prove sustainable with clubs themselves leading the charge.
Tindal's women side also continues to firm as league favourite after a dominant win over the Crocs on the weekend.
Northern Warlpiri's superior skills overcame a 'rusty' looking Kalano Bombers side despite a late push which saw them within six points late in the game.
As it now stands for the men Katherine Camels are in first place followed by the also undefeated Ngukurr who had a bye on the weekend.
Katherine south, Kalano and Northern Warlpiri are all one one win each while Tindal and Arnhem are still stuck looking for their first points of the season.
Attention now moves to a powerhouse clash between the Camels and Crocs this coming weekend.
Tindal women's now reign undefeated followed by Arnhem and Katherine South with one win each.
