The society is hoping someone from Katherine may be able to help in the research.
What we do know is that Ormonde House in Giles Street was named after Father Thomas Ormonde (1904-1985), the first resident parish priest of Katherine.
The original house was demolished in 1988 to make way for the present building.
It is now operated by the society as a crisis and emergency shelter.
"Father Ormonde worked long and tirelessly with his parishioners to build the vibrant and life filled Catholic community that we have today."
The dream of having catholic education in Katherine had its origins as far back as 1969 when a committee was formed by Father Ormonde, the impetus to St Joseph's Catholic College in Katherine established in 1987.
