The pair, aged 46 and 50, arrived in the Territory on June 24 and were supposed to be quarantining at a residence in Humpty Doo.

They were located in Katherine and both issued with a fine.

Police issued a further seven quarantine infringement notices in the NT over the weekend.

It is 11 days until the NT border opens.

A 29-year-old man was found to be absent from his home in Howard Springs during a compliance check.

The man had previously been issued an infringement on June 20 and has been issued a second fine.

A 25-year-old man was also found to be absent from his home in the Palmerston suburb of Driver during a compliance check.

Police made multiple attempts to locate and contact the man.

He purposely avoided police and has also been issued with his second infringement.

Two people, aged 46 and 50, arrived in the Territory on 24 June 2020 and were to be quarantining at a residence in Humpty Doo. They were located in Katherine and both issued with a fine.

Police investigated a report of two people frequently leaving their hotel room in Darwin. On attending the premises police spoke to a 26-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man who stated they went out to get food. Both were issued a fine.

Additionally, a 54-year-old woman has been issued with an infringement for breaking quarantine last month.

She was identified attending a boat cruise in Kakadu National Park with a 47-year-old man, before leaving the Territory. Her companion had already been fined.

The infringement penalty for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environmental Health Act 2011 is $1106 for an individual and $5530 for a business.

NT Police and Environmental Health Officers continue to undertake compliance activities.

A total of 22,843 compliance checks have now been completed and 117 fines issued.
